Lessons from Lydia in the Bible on a purple background

I absolutely love the story of Lydia in the Bible! The way God directed Paul, taking him somewhere he hadn’t even considered going, in order to reach Lydia, seller of purple, the God-fearing woman who had resources, and a generous spirit.  Through her, the church at Philippi was given a home, and her life was never the same again! Let’s explore Paul and Lydia’s story together: The Story of Lydia in the Bible: Acts 16:6-15 NIV First, the setup: Paul’s mission was to serve God and spread the Gospel to the Gentiles*. He had to be able to listen when … Read More

Best fictional couples, book date

I know there are 2 different kinds of book dates, the kind you get when everyone leaves you alone with your new book (wonderful!) and the kind where you recreate a scene from a book. But I got to thinking about some of the books I’ve read in the last year or two, and there’s a ton of ideas here, and most will work whether you’re dating or married. And of course, as a Libraryan, I couldn’t keep them … Read More

It takes a really good author to manage all that and leave you counting down the days until the sequel comes out. Andrew Huff managed this very well! And now the second book is here. … Read More
