Which Queen Esther Characteristics are the most worthwhile and transformative? And How did Hadassah in the Bible become so captivating? Hadassah, Queen Esther of Persia. Who was she? Did she really exist? Was King Xerxes truly so in love with her that he was willing to find a way to save a whole people group? And what’s the deal with Mordechai and Haman?? Let’s take a look at 6 vital Queen Esther characteristics that we would all benefit from practicing now, and then I’ll share a few of my favorite Christian Fiction stories of Hadassah in the Bible, AKA Queen … Read More
Today’s topic, Christian Time Travel Series! I love books about time travel, especially when they have Christian values and messages woven throughout the story. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to find yourself in another time entirely? This has always fascinated me. (And NOT just because Captain Kirk and Spock made a habit of it… or because I watched “Seven Days” a bit too often) Would you be able to maintain your faith? Would you be able to embrace the challenge of living in another time, and share Jesus Christ with those around you? Or maybe even … Read More
In this post: 8 Biblical Fiction Authors, and Why I Read Them! Some Friends and I were out for a Girls I mean Mom’s afternoon recently when the topic of Biblical Fiction came up. Now if you know me at all, you know I read a lot. My favorite categories are historical and Biblical fiction. I was surprised by how many of my friends were afraid, or at least nervous, about reading Biblical Fiction. I certainly understood their reasons. Primarily it was not wanting to get the Truth and a fictional account confused and mixed up in their minds. Combine … Read More
Happy Summer!! Of the many things I am thankful for, one is the opportunity to read amazing books, and Andrew Huff’s books, A Cross to Kill, and now Cross Shadow, do NOT disappoint. It’s a memorable and exciting series, and totally hilarious! A Cross to Kill challenged me, made me shake my head a few times, and had me laughing out loud more than once. It takes a really good author to manage all that and leave you counting down the days until the sequel comes out. Andrew Huff managed this very well! And now the second book is here. … Read More

I thoroughly enjoy Sci-Fi. You can call me a Trekkie and I wouldn’t mind. Shows like Sliders and Eureka are fun! But they all lack that thread of faith, of being able to trace the fingerprints of God. I also enjoy Crime shows like JAG and NCIS. They cover some awful stuff, but Justice wins. A little graphic sometimes, but satisfying to see the good guys solve the case. Steven James new book, Synapse, has the best of both of those, without any bad language or graphic displays that you have to cover your eyes for. While this is a … Read More
Come and experience a lesson in how to stand by your convictions in the latest book from Chautona Havig: Hashtag Rogue. To have the courage of your convictions is not easy, but well worth doing! I’m a long-time fan of Chautona’s work, for several reasons. First, because everything I’ve read of hers (yes, even her one kids Christmas story that’s Santa-based) makes me think and grow as a Christian. Second, she writes well, and she writes a lot!! I think she publishes between 4-6 books a year. And she’s generous. Most Fridays she offers one of her books for free!! … Read More
