How to Set Goals with God’s Grace and Favor

ArynFamily, Christian Nonfiction14 Comments

Okay, so this is a little hard to write. I’ve been ‘in church’ since well before I was born. But in over 30 years, I was still childlike in understanding God’s grace and favor. I’ve had the Sunday School answer, a simple, childish acceptance, which is great, but we’re called to a combination of childlike faith and spiritual maturity. (Matthew 18:2-4, Ephesians 4:11-16, Hebrews 6) I didn’t know what I didn’t know. But now I’m excited. Every time I do learn the Biblical or historical meaning of a word, I find my Bible reading time so much richer. It’s something … Read More

Living The Battle of the Bathsheba Bible Story Here and Now

ArynFaith, Christian Nonfiction16 Comments

Walk a mile in someone else’s shoes to understand them. Dive deep into the Bathsheba Bible Story and walk away with new understanding! Bathsheba in the Bible does seem to be a battleground story. You could argue about whether she was innocent as a lamb or guilty of every sin in the book. There’s also all of those crossroads David ignored, where he chose not to fight his desires. But take the time to get to know more than just the Bathsheba Bible story, but also the woman behind them. See yourself in her, and wow!! I was a little … Read More

I can’t quite believe that today’s the last day of #ChristianBooktober!! And we’re celebrating with “Before Christmas” which I’m very excited about! I love the fact that someone has written an ‘Advent’ book, that begins at the beginning of the Adventure. It’s traditional to begin in Nazareth, or even in Jerusalem with Zacheriah. Walk Worthy of the Calling, For You Are Chosen

ArynFaith, Christian Nonfiction19 Comments

We are Worthy, Because of Psalm 139.14

I do not always walk Worthy of the Calling God has called me to. I do not always see myself as Valuable. Or Worthy. So many of us struggle with feeling unworthy. But that is SO not true! You, me, that difficult person in your life, we are worthy-we have value- because we are God’s creation. Learning that, getting it deep down in your heart is absolutely life changing. It effects how we treat ourselves, and how we treat our family, neighbors, strangers at the store, and that person whose driving is more thoughtless (Wreckless?) than it should be. When … Read More

Fun Bible Stories for Kids: 12 of the Best Children’s Bible Story Books

ArynFaith, Children's Bookshelf, Christian Nonfiction, Family23 Comments

8+ Go-to Bible Storybooks

First off, I struggle with finding fun Bible stories for kids. Sometimes I get a Children’s Bible Story book home and find out it’s not theologically sound, or it’s totally watered down. I’ve gotten a few that had me itching to throw them away, and if you know me and books, that’s just not normal! I Love Books. I can rarely stop in the middle of a book, and won’t unless it hits my 3-strike tolerance for inappropriate content. Poor writing or typos don’t usually phase me. Theological issues, well, that’s the only other thing that can stop me. Especially if it … Read More
